Cathy Lamb is an Organist, Conductor, Animateur and Teacher.
Cathy's roots are as an organist. She has held Organ Scholarships at Salisbury Cathedral and Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge plus posts at Wells Cathedral, Christchurch Priory and Lichfield Cathedral where she was joint Director of Music with her husband, Ben. She continues to give recitals at many major venues across the UK. She is the main accompanist for Salisbury-based choir Sarum Voices www.sarumvoices.co.uk and features on seven of their CDs. She has one solo CD recorded on the BC Shepherd organ at St Alphege Burnt Oak. She will soon be collaborating with the extraordinary vocal group www.papagena.co.uk on the world premiere of John Duggan's Stabat Mater Speciosa.
Cathy is becoming increasingly well known as a Choral Animateur. She is Director of Music Outreach at Lichfield Cathedral School www.lichfieldcathedralschool.com and is responsible for co-ordinating Music Share which is a partner project between Lichfield Cathedral School and Lichfield Cathedral www.lichfield-cathedral.org with funding from The Arts' Council England via The Music Parnership www.themusicpartnership.org.uk.
Cathy is regularly asked to teach for the Royal School of Church Music www.rscm.com and Oundle www.oundlefororganists.org.uk. She is a Trustee of the Friends of Staffordshire Young Musicians www.fosym.org, Chair of the Lichfield Area RSCM Committee (she is an Honorary ARSCM) and President of the North Staffordshire & District Organ Society www.iao.org.uk. She has written many articles and teaching notes including most recently for BBC's Bring the Noise and was recently a finalist in BBC Radio WM's search for New Voices.
